Sensory Experiments.

In 2019, I co-designed costumes for Sensory Experiments, a fully immersive performance piece presented as part of NGV Design Week. The event featured live, choreographed performances held at The Mission to Seafarers Victoria. Working collaboratively with Holly Simpson, we developed costumes for the performers that evoked a religious or cult-like aesthetic while allowing for freedom of movement. The designs were loose fitting and tunic-like jumpsuits, made from calico chosen for its natural colour and easy availability. Through a process of bleaching, we softened the fabric and created subtle variations in texture and tone. Each garment was hand cut and sewn by Holly and myself.
