Subrina Heyink.

In April 2018, I collaborated with American vintage seller Subrina Heyink to develop a shirt design inspired by a sourced silk blouse. Our aim was to create a retro-inspired piece using natural materials. I drafted the garment pattern based on the original blouse and produced several samples, refining the fit until we were satisfied with the result. I worked with local haberdashery supplier Jimmy Buttons to create matching self-covered buttons, and each shirt was handmade by me in Melbourne. We selected silk dupion for its lustre and texture, finishing the garments with custom lilac and off white colourways chosen by Subrina. The shirts were later stocked on her online store alongside her vintage clothing and accessories collection.
